As a result of her character she was awarded a Daytime Emmy Award. Her film debut came in 1990 when she starred in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie that she described later as an awful low-budget film. She has a starring role in the most recent one, which was in the film When You Finish Saving the World (2022). She's established herself in Hollywood and is a successful children's book author. She published her first book in 2007 Freckleface Strawberry, which became a New York Times bestseller. Best-seller, it was also transformed into a TV series and music.
